After scaling nationwide, Lab2Market launches its first set of industry specific cohorts
Lab2Market will be running its first industry specific cohorts through its delivery partners in Dalhousie University and Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Dalhousie University will be delivering a national cohort focused on health and bio-based technologies, with an application deadline on October 28, and TMU will be delivering a national cohort focused on cybersecurity and related technologies, with an application deadline on October 28.
Tuesday October 3, 2022 (Canada) – It’s been just over two years since the Lab2Market Team kicked off its first cohort in the summer of 2020. Since then, the Lab2Market program has gone on to serve 60+ projects, backing 150+ researchers and students.
After delivering 13 cohorts, the Lab2Market team has seen an over-index from the health and bio-based industry, as well as the cybersecurity industry, making up ~25% and ~20% of our total cohorts respectively. Given the national reach of the Lab2Market program, and the network effects that are generated by the cohort community, the team has decided to officially launch industry specific cohorts for researchers across Canada.
Dalhousie University will be delivering the national cohort on health and bio-based technologies, with an application deadline on October 28. Please use the following link to apply for the health and bio cohort here.
Toronto Metropolitan University, in partnership with the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity at the University of New Brunswick, will be delivering the national cohort on cybersecurity and related technologies, with an application deadline on October 28. Please use the following link to apply for the cybersecurity cohort here.
While these cohorts will be focused on health/bio and cybersecurity respectively, our aim is to continue supporting researchers from all industries via our industry agnostic cohorts. Our next industry agnostic cohort will kick off in March 2023, with an application deadline on December 2nd, 2022 If you are interested in learning more, sign up for our newsletter here.
The Lab2Market team would like to support all of its partners and funders for supporting us since day zero of the projects, including Mitacs, Feddev Ontario, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), Venturewell, Prairies Canada, and Ocean’s Supercluster.
