Every year, Canada spends more than $700M+ in applied research from coast to coast, with only a handful of ideas reaching the market. We are here to change that. We empower researchers who aren’t satisfied with just publications and awards – but instead would like to grow their ideas to the point of market adoption.
We believe that traditional software businesses are a thing of the past, as their markets are getting extremely competitive. As a result, the companies that hold significant technical advantages will win the competitive dynamics of the market.
No two successful businesses are built the same way. Despite this, entrepreneurship programs constantly teach the same general stuff to their founders. Unlike other programs that make entrepreneurs and researchers part of a churn process (and play the numbers game), we tailor specific feedback and programming for our founders to help them succeed.
More than a third of startup companies fail because they are building a product or service that no one wants. To combat this, our entrepreneurs and researchers will be utilizing the lean methodology to validate ideas, concepts and technologies.

We will provide you with a $15,000 grant to help you kick off your idea. While we don’t have any limitations on how you spend the money, we highly suggest that you use it for customer discovery and validation.
We believe that mentors and advisers are the backbone to our program. Not only will they help you refine your ideas and strategies, but they will make appropriate introductions to help you grow your business.
